DreamCloud Mattress Review Dreamcloud Mattress Pad Recall
I am super excited about today’s review since I’ll be taking check out one of this newest beds on the market: the DreamCloud hybrid mattress.Dreamcloud Mattress Pad Recall
This bad boy combines high-density foam with encased coils for a sleeping experience that promises to be lavish as it’s supportive.
To watch how well this hybrid lives up to this goal, I’ve put it through a series of tests to measure its overall relaxation and ascertain what type of sleeper could benefit from it .
Read below for my full review of this DreamCloud mattress.
CONSTRUCTION
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile to get a mattress in a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts , which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together.
Cover: The cover is written of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. It also is quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers: under the cover, you may locate three thin layers of foam. While those sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to stress, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress.
The middle of those three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of these tiny ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils: The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which can be composed of a pocketed coil system.
These individually wrapped springs provide the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure.
The coils also help in regulating temperature as the distances between them allow for constant air flow.
Foundation Layer: A thin coating of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with all the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and supplying a sound base for the whole.

FIRMNESS
After with a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk concerning the firmness and texture .
I started off by applying light hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of this quilted cover and top layers.
My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nicelift from springs.
At this time I’d like to recall that individuals of distinct body shapes and types will feel firmness differently.
Rather than giving only my opinion on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their view also.
I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the remaining testers that it’s definitely a good mattress.
As you will feel some slight sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel as if you are sleeping on top of the mattress. Dreamcloud Mattress Pad Recall
Instead of simply describing the feel of this DreamCloud into you, I wished to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it.
To do so, I placed a pressure map in addition to the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach.
Back: After on my back, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking to the mattress whatsoever.
The quilted cover supplied quality relief in my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side: As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to sense pressure forming at my shoulders and buttocks .
However, I felt encouraged and the very best foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this place.
Stomach: Shifting over to my stomach, I thought that the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and from the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers.
I should mention that I handled to transition across these positions with comparative ease. Dreamcloud Mattress Pad Recall
THE MATTRESS WITH A 365 NIGHT TRIAL & FOREVER WARRANTY
If you intend on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to know what it will feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night.
This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress into another.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pounds. Steel ball from peaks of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress .
While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I Had nevertheless consider the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement , thanks to the individually wrapped coils.
This means you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great alternative for couples.
If buying a new mattress , many people want to know whether they will feel as though they are sinking”into” the mattress or laying”on top” of it.
To picture this sinkage, I placed four chunks of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how far they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
- 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
- 10 pound steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
- 50 pound medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
- 100 lb medication ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
As you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you will hit on the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support.
This combo will attention a broad variety of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers particularly. Dreamcloud Mattress Pad Recall
If you’re going to share your bed with a spouse and wish to use the whole surface area of the mattress, and then it’s going to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I’m especially interested to see whether the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which neglect to meet the border support of more traditional innerspring models.Lying in my spine, I felt supported in the edge of the bed as I did in the middle .
Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a small compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing too spectacular. Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression at the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under.
This system, along with the polyfoam border support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight. In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience intense compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
